So, prepare for a slog, if you’re hoping to make enough Flour in Palworld to satiate your Pals’ hunger and keep them happy. This item takes quite a few steps to create, so here’s everything you need to know about Flour, including how to make it and what it’s used for.

What is Flour used for in Palworld?

In Palworld, flour is used for a number of food recipes such as Bread, Cake, Pancakes, and more. These recipes largely stay true to real life, and a general rule of thumb is if a particular food item calls for flour in real life, chances are it’s a required ingredient in Palworld.

Cake is an especially important food item to acquire in the game if you want to breed Pals and have them lay an egg, which means getting your hands on Flour is all the more important.

How to get Flour in Palworld

To get Flour in Palworld, you need to grow Wheat from a Wheat Plantation and then use a Mill to turn that Wheat into Flour. A Wheat Plantation requires Wheat Seeds to build, as well as Watering, Planting, and Gathering Pals to maintain.

The best way to get your hands on the first essential ingredient is beating Pals that drop Wheat Seeds, such as Dinossom, Flopie, and Caprity. While you can also purchase the seeds, farming these Pals is a more economical solution in the long run. For your Wheat Plantation, you need to collect three Wheat Seeds.

Keep in mind that before you’re able to build a Wheat Plantation, you need to reach level 15 and research this item. The same goes for building a Mill.

Recipes for building a Wheat Plantation and a Mill

The full recipe for a Wheat Plantation is:

  • Three Wheat Seeds
  • 35 Wood
  • 35 Stone

Once your Wheat Plantation is up and running, it’s only a matter of time before you’ll begin accruing Wheat. A single plantation that is properly tended produces 10-20 Wheat for each harvest. As you grow your settlement, you should build more plantations to speed up the Wheat gathering process. In the meantime, for your task to get Flour in Palworld, you still need to build a Mill.

The full recipe for a Mill is:

  • 50 Wood
  • 40 Stone

With a Mill built, and once you have at least three Wheat in your inventory, you’ll be able to produce Flour by assigning a Watering Pal to your base. Flour will cost you a total of three Wheat each to produce at the Mill. Again, as you expand, you can build more Mills to make the most of those additional Wheat Plantations you’ve created.

Tip: Wheat is edible!

Anytime Pals harvest your Wheat Field, quickly take the Wheat to the Mill to turn it into Flour. If you don’t, chances are your Pals will end up eating it instead to keep themselves alive while doing other stuff at your base.

How to make Flour in Palworld, step by step

To make Flour in Palworld without a hitch, let’s take a look at an overview of the entire process:

  1. To make Flour, you first need to acquire three Wheat Seeds. Get these seeds by farming the Pals that drop them or buying them for 100 Gold from Wandering Merchants in the Settlements you discover across your travels.
  2. Buid a Wheat Plantation and a Mill (both unlocked at level 15) at your base for a total of three Wheat Seeds, 85 Wood, and 75 Stone.
  3. With the proper buildings placed, assign Pals with the Watering, Planting, and Gathering work suitability to your base. You’ll likely also want a Transporting Pal for good measure.
  4. Once your Pals have grown and harvested the Wheat, place a work order for Flour at your Mill. Any Watering Pals assigned to your base will then use the Mill to turn the Wheat to Flour.
