In Helldivers 2, you’ll sometimes be sent somewhere where your equipment and on-the-ground strategy don’t cut the mustard. Fortunately, you’re in good hands, with Helldiver Command providing firepower and backup with Stratagem.

How to use Stratagem Codes in Helldivers 2
Stratagems in Helldivers 2 are powerful devices or upgrades available for use during a mission. Stratagems belong to six categories: Patriotic Administration Centre, Orbital Cannons, Hanger, Bridge, Engineering Bay, and Robotics Workshop, each serving a different purpose. You can have four Stratagem at once, equipping multiple from the same category or mixing them up. Whether you’re teaming up with friends or going it alone, Stratagems are paramount to your success.
To use a Stratagem, enter the Stratagem’s code in the correct sequence. Your Stratagem code list opens by holding L1 and inputting codes using the D-pad. If you’re playing on PC with a mouse and keyboard, you’ll have to hold Ctrl and input the codes with WASD by default. Stratagems are unlocked at the Ship Management, with levels and Requisitions (cash) accumulated by completing mission objectives.
Mouse & Keyboard players are at a slight disadvantage.
As you might have guessed, having to use WASD to input your Stratagem codes conflicts with moving your character around. With the default controls for Helldivers 2 enabled, you’re unable to move your character while calling Stratagems. Luckily, you can rebind controls!
You cannot change your equipped Stratagem mid-mission. Make sure you strategize what you need based on the difficulty level and mission objectives. Support weapons can spawn as ground loot, so unless you prefer these weapons, you can always randomly pick them up. Lastly, you cannot use weapons while the Stratagem list is open.
